30/07/2024 - These notes are for the benefit of any visitors who have arrived at the linked page via eBay seller Ir100's Cameracollector.net Ward 35 page.

Copying from this site without giving credit

To the best of my knowledge, advertising of the Gen 35 by "Simpson's" in the July 1957 edition of the Saskatchewan Leader-Post newspaper is a quirky detail about an obscure camera, and unique to my research (shared on the page that brought you here and one at Camera-wiki, which I also wrote). Cameracollector.net does not say how they came to know this trivia, which leads me to suspect the fact was "copied", perhaps when a link from cameracollector.net to a document on my site was made in February 2024 (although they have implied that they "stumbled upon" my site in July 2024, rather than had prior knowledge of it).

Cameracollector.net's Ward 35 page was coincidentally edited on the day of their complaint, and the link to a document on my site removed. However, their unaltered page had already been indelibly captured on 14 April 2024 by the Internet Archive, which immortalised the link to a Ward 35 document on my site. Explain that!

Errors at Cameracollector.net

My Beauty 35 page comprises 6 off-site citations, and 10 supporting documents, while Cameracollector.net has 0 citations, and 0 supporting documents. In other words, the author sees no need for proof of claims. And yet that site's owner demands that I specify evidence of errors I have eluded to! I am tempted to use the word beginning with "hypo" and ending with "crate", but I'm a good-natured chap, so here's an example, but - Cameracollector.net - you really need to grow-up stop expecting other people to wipe your arse!
The more observant may notice that ALL documents I have reference (i.e. the Japanese magazine advertisement, Taiyodo Koki leaflet, English language Instruction Manual at Orphan Cameras, camera box lid and Japanese Instruction Manual cover) name this model as the Beauty "35".
Prior to challenge on 14/03/2024, the antique, vintage and used digital cameras price guide "Collectiblend" website erroneously listed this model as the Beauty "35 I" (from Sugiyama). The repetition of this incorrect name appears to be another example of Cameracollector.net copying content without crediting the source.

Pricing of shipping

The main text of my Beauty 35 page makes no accusation regarding ir100's pricing of shipping cost: it is an unembellished and factual statement. Here is a screen-shot of the ebay messages in which a shipping cost of C$78 (circa £45) was requested by ir100 when eBay had suggested C$36. Ir100 encouraged me to bid blind on an item with unspecified shipping charges outside of the advertised terms of sale. I walked away because these are not the actions of an honest broker.

Ir100's email of 28/07/2024 via eBay (click to enlarge), says he "stumbled upon" my site, but that isn't true. A link to my site was created in February 2024, presumably when details of "Simpsons" were copied. The other complaints are addressed in the main text (left).

Here's a screen shot of the Cameracollector.net's Ward 35 page tantrum (click to enlarge). I have made no personal attacks or slurs against cameracollector.net/ ir100. I have merely stated facts. Hopefully Ir100 will learn that people who copy without giving credit and have an apathetic attitude to eBay shipping costs risk being brought to account.
